here’s a new riff I just made up and it’s weird

Okay so I made up a riff (well, I know I want these power chords in a certain order) but didn’t quite know how I want it accented so here is it accented about 3498325 different ways.

I’ve been trying to learn to play slide and it’s hard. I didn’t do this until it sounded perfect so my intonation sucks all of the ass but yup I want to get good at slide okay.

I use two tracks and it sounds not so good but this is one of the best things I can play it’s just so much fun.

Tonight, I taught my friend this and this song and we played it all the way through, excuse all of the mistakes and all of the background noise but it’s not meant to be professional, just recorded a run through for fun. Tonight has been exactly that, fun.

Okay so this isn’t very good as music but I thought I’d explain what I do to learn something

I figured out this solo by ear earlier (Bark At The Moon, by the way), and was struggling with getting it all to flow well, so I grabbed my phone and a guitar unplugged (if you can hear it unplugged and/or on a clean channel and it sounds good, with gain it’ll sound good) and practiced at slow tempo to a drum machine, then I sped it up (100, 120, then 140bpm), and then started recording, then when I got two takes in sync I’ve got it down, so here’s one of the final takes. Just so you know, that D Aeolian fast picking sequence at the end is not easy. Nowhere near.

I know you don’t really care, but hey this is a post right that’s what you’re meant to do on tumblr. And I’m a guitar teacher to be so…

I had a go at trying to sound like I am in Deftones and wrote this riff.
